  • Salt

Whole wheat cheela recipe is very easy as long as you can prepare lump-free batter out of wheat and semolina clubbed together.

  • Step 1 – add one glass of water, whole wheat and semolina together in a bowl.
  • Step 2 – whisk well
  • Step 3 – add spices and vegetables and club everything together.
  • Step 4 – after that, let it sit for 20 minutes.
  • Step 5 – in case, you need more water, simply add it because the batter should not be very dry.
  • Step 6 – take a non-stick heating pan or cast iron tawa depending upon your choice. A non-stick and will help you to cook cheela with little oil consumption that’s it.
  • Step 7 – after that, let the tawa heat for 5 minutes on a medium flame.
  • Step 8 – reduce the flame and put one cup of batter on hot tawa thereby spreading it in round circular motions.
  • Step 9 – add little bit of olive oil or refined oil around the cheela and let it cook for few more minutes.
  • Step 10 – cook on the other side and enjoy it with peanut chutney, green chutney or tomato ketchup.
