Prepare Gatte Ki Khichdi In Rajasthani Style At Home

Rajasthani cuisines have a level of its own. You just cannot match with the taste and flavour that Rajasthani food carries. As we are going to discuss the gatte ki khichdi recipe here. The entire subcontinent is a big fan of Rajasthani food that has a blend of exotic ingredients in it.


Let us just find out the basics about it . This recipe is also called gatte ki pulao. Authentically prepared using Besan, ajwain, basmati rice, onion garlic and dahi, once prepared, you will love the recipe eternally. Apart from this, there are many other ingredients.

 

Ingredients we need for preparing gatte ki khichdi –

  • 1 cup besan
  • salt
  • One tablespoon saunf
  • 1 tablespoon yoghurt
  • 1 full tablespoon red chilli powder
  • Half tablespoon Ajwain
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup basmati rice uncooked
  • Three fourth Cup onion
  • Basic spices

 

Let’s now jump to the step-by-step guide for preparing this recipe-

  • Step 1 – mix besan, oil, ajwain, fennel seeds, Dahi, salt and chilli powder together. In order to prepare a dough out of it. if you want you can simply skip adding ajwain and chilli powder.
  • Step 2 – divide the dough into small parts having a cylindrical shape.
  • Step 3 – take some water in a big pot and let it boil. now drop gatta or basan dumpling into it. Let it boil and it will come on the top of the water on its own after it is cooked.
  • Step 4 – boil some rice and keep it aside.
  • Step 5 – take another deep frying pan and saute some onions in it.
  • Step 6 – don’t forget to put all the spices such as carom seeds, asafoetida or mustard seeds and turmeric powder in the sauted onions. Add rice and gatta in the same oil.
  • Step 7 – add finely chopped Dhaniya and serve the same with Khatta dahi.
